Hanju Seo is a London-based spatial intelligence inventor and entrepreneur building systems that bridge nature, humans, and machines. A graduate of the joint MA/MSc Innovation Design Engineering programme at Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art, he founded EarthCode Ltd. to develop tools that help land managers make better decisions in agriculture and forestry.

Inspired by managing his family's woodland in Korea, he creates monitoring systems that combine ground-level sensing with remote data to provide actionable insights for regenerative land stewardship. His work, EarthCode, has been recognized with £43K in prize money and equity-free grants and showcased at the Dubai AI Festival.

This belief informs his concept of ‘Contextual-Understanding Gleaning’, an evolution of traditional gleaning that pairs a living organism with its digital twin. By scanning and recording in real time, Contextual-Understanding Gleaning creates dynamic replicas enriched with biological data, environmental context, and historical records. These twins support both preservation and practical use, fostering a future where the natural and digital continuously inform and strengthen one another.
